GTA 6 is infiltrating the work force

•

After 13 years of silence, the open-world, action video game, Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6), will debut Nov. 19, 2026. The game will follow a criminal couple, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos as they explore the criminal underbelly of the fictional world, Vice City. Inspired by the classic Bonnie and Clyde dynamic, the new world and new features offer players in-depth dynamics and choices.

The anticipation surrounding the game is so heightened that qualified troops in the 9th Engineer Battalion at Fort Stewart who reenlist by Nov. 14 will be granted a four-day pass to play, according to an official document signed by the unit’s commander, Lt. Col. Ryan D. Hodgson.

Many people not qualified to take military leave to play GTA 6, or not enlisted are planning to take leave off of work, extending their playing time up to a week off. In a more recent Reddit post, user u/instanityxsl’s boss had to warn staff to not take those days off.

Feeding into the anticipation, Rockstar games has been teasing the soundtrack and gameplay for GTA 6, debuting a 27-minute gameplay preview on Netflix. The special drew in over 31.1 million views within the first week, driving in massive attention with over 100,000 new sign-ups because of it.

Key gameplay additions like a new wanted system, where police now have clothing memory and closed-circuit television [CCTV] tracking, have been drawing new audiences in.

Garnering new attention from social media to the military, GTA 6 is bound to be a groundbreaking addition to the Grand Theft Auto series.
