Rebecca Grossman’s family is set to testify

In 2024, socialite Rebecca Grossman was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for running over two brothers, Mark and Jacob Iskander, 11 and 8 years old, in Westlake Village on Sept. 29, 2020. Following this, on Monday, Dec. 1, 2025, a judge ruled that Rebecca Grossman cannot prevent attorneys from deposing her husband and daughter, Peter and Alexis Grossman, in the civil case that was filed by the two boys’ family due to the death of their children.

Rebecca Grossman was charged with two felony counts of murder and vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence for the deaths of the two boys. During Rebecca Grossman’s criminal trial in 2021, prosecutors held that Rebecca Grossman and her then-boyfriend, Scott Erickson, had been intoxicated and were racing each other along Triunfo Canyon road, where the children were hit, according to the lawsuit filed. Following the impact, Rebecca Grossman attempted to flee to the scene, but her engine stopped due to the strike, as reported by Los Angeles Daily News.

On Dec. 1, 2025, Rebecca Grossman’s lawyers argued that a singular previous deposition in 2021 of Peter Grossman, was adequate for the plaintiffs. It was also argued that deposing Alexis Grossman, would “further traumatize a young woman already suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder,” according to Los Angeles Daily News.

In response, Karim and Nancy Iskander’s, the parents of the two boys, lawyers asserted that Peter Grossman may have pertinent information, due to him allegedly granting his wife permission to drive the vehicle that was in the accident. Later, as reported by Los Angeles Daily News, Judge Huey P. Cotton wrote that Alexis Grossman’s disability did not disqualify her from testifying.

Karim and Nancy Iskander, as well as the boys’ brother, Zachary, are the plaintiffs in the civil trial, which is set for Jan. 5, 2026.
