Teens go wild for Wildflower Cases

Wildflower Cases have revolutionized the phone accessory business, one trend at a time. These ultra-viral phone cases have experienced massive popularity since their launch in 2012. The business was founded by Newbury Park residents Michelle, Devon and Sydney Carlson after singer and actress, Miley Cyrus, noticed Devon Carlson’s handcrafted phone case, designed by Michelle Carlson, at a restaurant. In an interview with Livia Lange of Nylon Magazine, Sydney Carlson describes the interaction. “So, [Miley Cyrus] asked for a photo in the bathroom, and I took it, and I had the phone case on my phone and Miley was like, “Where did you get that? That’s the coolest thing I’ve ever seen.” Cyrus’ interest prompted the Carlson family to create a website for their homemade cases. The new company found virality immediately, and have since evolved their quick rise in popularity into a highly successful business that still possesses their trademark trendiness. Today, Wildflower Cases’ products can be spotted in a variety of places, including Newbury Park High School.

Wildflower Cases’ phone case collaboration with American model, Salem Mitchell, is a staple of Cambria Brown, sophomore. “I’ve had [my phone case] honestly for almost two years and it’s still pristine,” Brown said. Brown’s favorite feature of her case is its protectiveness, as she is not always careful with her phone. “I love my case and I’ve dropped it many times and it’s still not broken,” Brown said. She is also drawn to the cases’ visual elements. “The designs are very cute and colorful, and they have many different colors,” Brown said.

Recurrent customer Banoo Nader, junior, has bought two phone cases from the Wildflower Cases’ website in the last year. “My favorite phone case is the Nessa Barrett featured [case],” Nader said. Nader hopes to grow her collection of phone cases in future. As a fan of Wildflower Cases, Nader is drawn to many of the features of the cases. “The designs are absolutely amazing, another main reason why I bought [the cases] and the way it’s all structured together,” Nader said.

Sophia Grant, junior, is a proud owner of a Wildflower Case and vocal supporter of the brand. “I highly recommend [the phone cases] and encourage others to buy them,” Grant said. Grant’s approval stems from the strength of her phone case. “My phone case is extremely durable and it has never broken before,” Grant said. She chooses to purchase her phone cases from Wildflower Cases because of the protective rubber bumper the brand offers. “I love that it has a protective lip so that your screen will not shatter or get cracked either,” Grant said.
Despite Wildflower Cases’ large expansion, their products are still beloved by local customers today. “Wildflower Cases has the perfect case for everyone,” Brown said.
