It’s that time of the year again, when leaves start to fall, apples are picked, and people are chased around by zombies.
On Oct. 31, the theater program is offering an alternative to Trick-or-Treating: the Zombie Run. From 6-10 p.m. for five dollars, participants will be chased by zombies on a surprise-filled obstacle course through the school.
“I dont want to give anything away, because we want the thrill and the surprise … but they should be prepared to run,” said Jacqueline Holm, senior and member of the theater program.
“It’s like a haunted house combined with a maze … with zombies chasing you,” said Marilyn Strange, theater teacher.
The Zombie Run is for everyone, even those who are not fans of scary movies and have a weak stomach. “It’s not too gruesome, which is a good thing, but it has the fun of getting chased around — without the fear of being in any real danger, ” Holm said.
The program expects a bigger crowd this year than last year, due to the immense amount of people who signed up to volunteer. “There are definitely a lot more people working the event than last year, I saw a lot of people at the meeting that weren’t in the theater program,” Holm said.
“I’m not sure if I’m going yet, but it seems like a pretty cool event,” Kelly Jiang, freshman said. The money from the run will be used to fund future productions put on by the theater program.
“The money we get goes to fund better props and costumes, which helps make better productions,”Strange said.
