The Los Robles Hospital achieved a major milestone on Dec. 16 in their $39 million plan to expand the emergency department by opening a new waiting room. The medical center is located in Thousand Oaks and includes three hospitals and three outpatient clinics.
With the aim of satisfying patients’ rising demands for emergency treatment, the full project will expand the emergency department by more than double. The additions include seven extra rooms for private treatment, three resuscitation rooms and a waiting room with 11 vertical treatment recliners. Three fast-track bays will also be added, a system introduced on Aug. 21 that involves additional beds in the emergency room to treat patients with less severe conditions during busy hours.
According to the Thousand Oaks Acorn, Los Robles and HCA Healthcare, its parent company, have invested $300 million towards various planned and ongoing improvements around the hospital. These changes include the expansion of the surgery suite and renovations in labor and delivery, which are expected to be completed in early 2026.
