Shirley Temples are surely enjoyable

For many years, I have been fond of the refreshing mocktail known as a Shirley Temple, which typically consists of lemon-lime soda, grenadine and a Maraschino cherry on top. Whether I find myself at a wedding, or a restaurant with my friends, this concoction always quenches my thirst. My ideal Shirley Temple would consist of ginger ale as the base, a substantial (yet not absurd) amount of grenadine and at least two cherries on top. To conduct my research on the best Shirley Temple, I traveled to restaurants near and far, hoping to find something to satisfy these ratios.

BJs- This Shirley Temple was adequate; a fair amount of grenadine, bordering on too sweet, and sadly no cherries on top which I found offensive. 7/10

Finney’s- Close to perfection. Crisp, satisfying amount of grenadine, yet still no cherry on top which saddened me. 9/10

Chili’s- Just wrong. Pathetic amounts of grenadine and no cherries on top (a federal offense). 5/10

Ultimately, the best Shirley Temple I tried would have to be Finney’s. If you ever find yourself with a craving for this sweet mocktail, I would recommend you stop at this restaurant and demand one of these delicious concoctions. However, it might be wise to bring some Maraschino cherries from home.
