Thousand Oaks suffers a power blackout

Several areas in the city of Thousand Oaks were temporarily without power during the late hours of Sunday night, on Oct. 9 which left many residents searching for spare candles to illuminate their homes while waiting for their power to return.

The area affected included Lynn Road to Hillcrest Drive. Additionally, many moviegoers were unable to finish their movies at the AMC Theater located in the Oaks Mall.

Fortunately, the customers received compensation via free movie passes that they could use to rewatch their film or even see another film at a later time.

According to VC Star. the power outage was reported around 8:40 p.m. Power was restored to the affected area around 10:30 p.m.

According to Southern California Edison, the outage was estimated to have affected around 1,235 customers.
